I made something

Gorsh it's been a while since I've written anything. That doesn't mean I haven't been productive...

I made this pillow out of old t-shirts that I cut up and sort of latch hooked through a square piece of a tee. It's like some kind of muppet pillow.

Ella is a porcupine!

Remember this painting I made?

It was boring so I painted over it and started this one. I know it's not great quality but when it's done I'll take a better picture for your veiwing pleasure, or displeasure?

This is a drawring I made for my brother while I was at work. Yes, there are days when I put pleasure before work. My brother is currently making music with his lovely PREGNANT wife(that's right I'm going to be Auntie Amy.) He wanted me to make him a design for a t-shirt that would also be a cd cover and could possibly worked into web design for his music site. The drawing was actually inspired by the painting I'm currently making.

Yes that is a very ROUGH draft. It has some junk on the side so the border is all wonky, but you get the idea. Click on it for a closer view if you so please.

Besides the most awesome news that my brother and wife are pregnant, a little bird told me that he just might move back here in good ol' Wisconsin. I don't want to jinx it, but that news makes me oh so very happy. Other than that, my braces are straightening out my teeth like whoa, and I love it. I can't wait to get them off, it will be a while, but it's worth the wait.

I hope to blog atchya again soon, but I'm so unpredictable. Life gets in the way of sharing my life with the internets. Hopefully I'll have some fun Halloween mischeif to share with you all soon. Until then, have a happy October, octopus.

No Magic Here

There's this fence in my neighborhood along a busy road. It is painted that nostalgic aqua blue color that you only see in technicolor photographs from the circus, and old postcards from some beach. I noticed someone had graffitti'd it recently with these words...

I'm not sure what it means, but I'd like for it to remain a mystery... hopefully it isn't something that everyone knows, except me. I do not mind being naieve once in a while.

A lot of magic here...

My brother came home from California to visit. He finally gave me my Christmas present, well worth the wait. Frog Head Mask! What? Of course Glenn added a little moustache. Nice touch Glenn! He came up with the design himself and papier mache'd it into a masterpiece. Look out Ella!

I took off work for a one day trip with my friend to Illinois. We treated ourselves to a mini spree in IKEA. Here are a few of my endulgences...

New bedding...

New shades...

Fun Bedside Lamp...

Wall Lamp... I was sad when I took it out of the box and found that I must cut a hole in the wall and install an electrical box. With an old curling iron cord, some help from my dad, and a cord hider kit, I was able to install it with ease. Eeeeeeeeeeees! (I didn't have to cut open my wall, phew!)

Area rug...Delicious!

Last month my mom and dad suprised me with a very early birthday present. A patio set! My birthday isn't until May 29th, but I don't mind. We wanted to set it up outside right away, but it was raining. We put it in my kitchen instead...Me and Pops.

Speaking of birthday... I am hoping that my incessant hints of wanting a vanity will infiltrate my main squeeze's brain and he'll get me that instead of a purse made of denim jeans... Yes he bought me a purse made of denim jeans. Who is he, and where is he from?

I am so very excited for this summer. I'm hoping to go camping a lot, it will be fun with the doggy dog dogs...Oh my Leadbelly, how you've grown!

Hey, Where'd Amy Go?

It was said so often in my family household that even our bird started to say it. "Hey, where'd Amy go" -Zowie

I left the blogosphere for a while, and I'm not sure where I went, so I'll just pick up where I left off. Or I'll leave off where I pick up....

So I made a painting for my living room. I think I'd rather call it a decoration than a painting. I did paint it, but it wasn't heartfelt and masterful, it's just circles of colors that I'd like to incorporate in my living room. That's all...

It's actually a triptych, see?

I also repainted my bedroom and I wish I had taken before pictures because it was a terrible mess beforehand. I will describe it if you are curious. We had mac n cheese yellow walls with one very shiny, very jaggedy red wall. Nothing in our room matched. I had a pal come over and help me repaint. When I say help, I mean she pretty much did all the work. I'm a spastic sporadic painter what can you do? End result... This is what Behr calls Cracked Wheat. I like putting the word cracked in front of other words...Try it. Cracked cheese... cracked face... cracked shoes...

Leadbelly, aka LB aka Leadbuckles aka Loverboy aka Buckles, also loves the new color.
Actually he hates it, but it's not his room so pipe it Leadbeans.

I have more bedroom decoration plans which involve a trip to IKEA. I've got my shopping trip all planned out but I'm missing the whole money part. As soon as I get that, I'll share my decorations with you. I love decorating, O-M-G I am such a girl sometimes.

Why am I smiling like such a goon? I always smile like a goon.
Actually, at age 26 going on 27... I am getting braces. Most people wouldn't be this excited, but I have been ready to do this since I was much younger. Last Friday I got a baby tooth pulled to make way for the adult tooth that has been sidleing up behind it. End result... a hillbilly smile

Tomorrow I get the seperators put in, and next week I'll receive the full installation of braces. I am really excited, I never thought it was possible for me to have straight teeth one day. I'm on my way...

If I think of other fun stuff that I've been up to, i'll share it soon. Alyssa, thanks for giving me the nudge to come back, I needed it. Welcome back Sami and Heather!

New Puppy

Marty acutally got his way for once and we got a Golden Retreiver pup. His name is Leadbelly. I was against having a bigger dog that sheds a lot, but we found that Ella gets along with his parent's Golden Retreivers so well, it would make Ella happy to have a friend. Marty's mom's dog Cheyenne had a litter of puppies born on Thanksgiving day. She gave us Leadbelly for free. He is a very sweet pup. See?

Winter Presents Shadow Shot Sunday

A lovely shadow from light coming through my front window.

We had a lot of snow...

Only an hour after uncovering, my car was buried in snow again...Luckily for me, work was called off the next day. Nothing beats a snow day.

Marty received a homemade cake from our neighbor. He always makes us extravagant cakes out of the blue.It is good to have some nice neighbors.

A lot drivers got stuck in the snow, some kids in our neighborhood went around looking to help the cars that were stuck. They did it just to be nice, they weren't accepting money for their help.

Marty and Ella were tuckered out from shoveling.

"Woke Up Alone"

My brother made this video for a class. You should check it out. It has such a cool style and feel to it. I love it, and I think you will too. P.S. My brother is the man in the television and his wife is the dream girl.
